This edition of Sotheby’s signature Royal & Noble Jewels auction unites rare and exceptional jewels with outstanding Royal and noble provenances.Â
Â
The sale is lead by a historical diamond brooch/pendant lost by Napoleon when fleeing from the Battle of Waterloo. This highly significant jewel remained in the Prussian Royal collection for over two centuries and is now offered at auction for the very first time. Further highlights include a rare surviving example of an elaborate 1840s hair ornament set with natural pearls, originally owned by Kunigunde of Saxony, as well as a superb emerald and diamond necklace set with a highly crystalline 11.78 carat emerald commissioned from Cartier New York in 1932.
