Shake Up National Sake Day With These South Florida Sips

Move over, sake bombs. South Florida is giving sake a seriously new spin.
National Sake Day arrives October 1, and while there’s always a time and place for a classic pour, restaurants across Miami, Miami Beach, Coral Gables, Fort Lauderdale and Hallandale Beach are proving sake deserves plenty of room behind the cocktail bar, too.
This year, the celebration goes well beyond the bottle with bright yuzu spritzes, silky lychee martinis, matcha-spiked sours and cucumber-forward saketinis, alongside sommelier-curated omakase pairings and an exclusive sake collaboration worthy of its own 10-course dinner.
Whether you prefer your sake shaken, stirred, spritzed or poured alongside sushi, here’s where to raise a glass to National Sake Day in South Florida.
At Uchi Miami, sake takes center stage with the launch of Better Together, an exclusive Junmai Ginjo sake in partnership with Brooklyn Kura, New York’s first craft sake brewery. Available starting October 1, the sake features domestically grown Yamada Nishiki rice polished to 60%, resulting in a sip that’s velvety yet crisp, fruit-forward yet dry, with notes of honeydew, orange peel, cherry, puffed rice, mochi and cream. The collaboration continues with the Better Together Sake Dinner on Thursday, October 22, at 6:30 p.m., featuring a 10-course tasting pairing Uchi’s modern Japanese dishes with the exclusive sake and additional sips. Tickets are $175 per person and may be purchased here.

It’s only right to celebrate National Sake Day at Coral Gables’ Mottai, where sake cocktails complement the restaurant’s sophisticated take on Japanese cuisine and French Japonisme-inspired decor. The P.M.P Sour, crafted with nigori sake, Caravedo, Licor 43, matcha, pineapple and pandan, makes for a tangy tropical sip with a subtle green tea finish, while the Yuzu 75 blends Daiginjo sake, Rémy Martin V, yuzu and prosecco for an elegant, effervescent cocktail.
Uchiko Miami Beach puts a Japanese spin on the classic martini with its Lychee Martini, made with Wheatley vodka, nigori sake, lychee and yuzu for a fruity, fun and fragrant sip. For an herbaceous, crisp and sake-forward cocktail, The Uchiko Saketini packs the flavor with Ketel One Botanical Cucumber & Mint and the award-winning Yuki No Bosha sake.

For National Sake Day, MILA Omakase on Lincoln Road offers a standout place to sip and savor. Named “Best Omakase” in the Miami New Times 2026 Best of Miami Awards, the intimate multi-course experience features curated sake pairings selected by the sommelier to complement each stage of the menu.
At Atlantic Village, Hallandale Beach’s vibrant open-air destination bringing together eclectic dining, wellness and experiential concepts, Sokai Sushi Bar is raising a glass to National Sake Day with its signature Yuzu Kiss. Known for blending traditional Japanese techniques with bold Peruvian flavors, Sokai Sushi’s refreshing sake-based cocktail spotlights bright, citrusy yuzu flavors for an easy-drinking sip that pairs perfectly with the restaurant’s Japanese-Peruvian fare.
