Sexy Fish Miami will debut a World Cup-focused artistic activation that outfits its mermaid performers in custom couture garments made from upcycled soccer jerseys, kits, scarves, and other futbol-inspired materials.

The mermaids will begin appearing in the new designs on June 12, 2026, and will rotate through seven different custom looks during nightly performances through the end of the FIFA World Cup on July 18.
The project is part of Sexy Fish Miami's effort to engage local women entrepreneurs, artists, and creative leaders in the city’s World Cup festivities, beginning with an all-female business owner dinner on June 12.
Creative direction is led by entrepreneur Allison Freidin, co-founder of Museum of Graffiti, who developed the concept and assembled a team of women-owned creative businesses, while designer Diana Dubinsky and her studio DesignLab22 are responsible for crafting each bespoke garment from repurposed soccer apparel.
By transforming discarded soccer wear into fashion pieces for one of the brand's most recognizable symbols, the installation links global fandom, sustainability, and Miami’s role as a creative crossroads, positioning the mermaids as ambassadors of futbol culture within the restaurant’s immersive underwater setting.
