A new waterfront destination is coming into view at Currie Park. Breakwater Hospitality Group has been selected as the top-ranked proposer to design, build and operate Sea Salt Beach House as part of West Palm Beach’s $35 million redevelopment along the Intracoastal Waterway. The group will now enter contract negotiations with the city.

Sea Salt Beach House is envisioned as an approximately 378-seat restaurant with indoor dining rooms, covered terraces and open-air seating overlooking the waterfront. Breakwater is working with Bigtime Design Studios on the concept, with spaces designed to connect the restaurant to the surrounding park.

The plans extend beyond dining. A family play area, grab-and-go kiosk and year-round programming would bring additional activity to Currie Park. Fitness classes, pop-up markets, live entertainment and seasonal community events are among the activities planned for the waterfront.

A 320-seat rooftop event space would provide a waterfront setting for weddings, community celebrations, civic functions and other special events.

The project would expand Breakwater’s presence across South Florida. Founded in 2018 by Emi Guerra and Alex Mantecon, the Miami-based group operates Regatta Grove in Coconut Grove, JohnMartin’s in Coral Gables, The Wharf Fort Lauderdale and PIER 5 at Bayside. It is also the hospitality partner behind Riverside Wharf, a 200,000-square-foot mixed-use development along the Miami River. Sea Salt Beach House would extend that waterfront focus to West Palm Beach.
