Another interesting fact about Salzburg is its association with the movie “The Sound of Music”. The film was shot on location in the city and surrounding areas, and visitors can take a “Sound of Music” tour to see the famous filming locations, including the Mirabell Palace and Gardens and the von Trapp family home. Also worth visiting is the famous Hohensalzburg Fortress, stroll along the Salzach River, and take a cable car up to the top of the Untersberg Mountain for some breathtaking views.
