SAVE Announces Honorees for 2026 Champions of Equality Gala
SAVE has announced additional honorees for its 2026 Champions of Equality Gala, an event recognizing leaders who shape South Florida’s cultural, civic, and philanthropic landscape. This year, the organization will honor Carol Coombes, Bilzin Sumberg, and internationally acclaimed vocalist Nicole Henry, joining previously announced honoree Joseph Falk.
The Champions of Equality Gala will take place on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at the Loews Miami Beach Hotel. The evening will be hosted by Emmy Award-winning journalist Louis Aguirre of WPLG Local 10 News, alongside special guest host Lindsey Alley. The event brings together community leaders, advocates, and supporters to celebrate LGBTQ+ progress.
Carol Coombes is being honored for over 25 years of leadership in advancing LGBTQ+ cultural visibility through the arts. Law firm Bilzin Sumberg is being recognized for shaping South Florida's legal and civic landscape while advancing inclusion within the community. Nicole Henry will be celebrated for her cultural impact and longstanding allyship, which includes hosting her annual Winter Concert to benefit SAVE and other local organizations.
Ahead of the gala, SAVE will host a Champions of Equality Kickoff Reception on Sunday, April 19, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Faena Residences in Miami. Proceeds from the season will support SAVE’s mission to promote, protect, and defend LGBTQ+ equality through grassroots organizing and policy advocacy across South Florida.
