Sanlorenzo Introduces 58Steel, a New Direction for Quiet, Flexible Superyacht Design

Sanlorenzo has launched the 58Steel, a 58-meter superyacht that expands the shipyard’s steel line with new propulsion technology and a redesigned approach to space. The model follows the 57Steel but adopts a broader beam, a new platform, and a diesel-electric hybrid system engineered to reduce emissions and noise while increasing interior volume.

The yacht’s exterior, created by Zuccon International Project, refines the brand’s sculptural, architectural style. The 58Steel gains one metre in length, yet the changes in hull and internal configuration generate far more usable area, including over 40 square meters recovered by consolidating the engine room onto a single deck. That space is now dedicated to guest amenities, particularly at the stern, where the beach club opens on three sides to form a waterside terrace equipped with a bar, hammam, gym and beauty salon.

The hybrid propulsion system is central to the yacht’s redesign. Five 425 kW generators and a 1 MWh battery pack enable silent cruising for up to two hours and emissions-free hotel operation for as long as eight hours at anchor. Azimuthal pods enhance manoeuvrability while reducing vibration, contributing to what Sanlorenzo describes as a quieter onboard experience.

The interior, developed by Sanlorenzo’s Style Department, uses dark woods, Calacatta Borghini marble, and champagne-finished metals to create a restrained palette. The layout is built around flexibility: two full-beam VIP cabins on the Lower deck, a Supreme VIP on the Main deck, and an Owner’s deck designed as a private suite with pool, office, and cinema-capable lounge. The Main deck lounge connects directly to an infinity pool, maintaining an unobstructed flow between indoor and outdoor areas.

The first unit, Perla Lunar, has been delivered, with additional hulls underway. The model enters the market as Sanlorenzo marks 15 years of its steel yacht program, part of a broader strategy that includes hybrid systems, alternative fuels, and collaborations in design and technology. More information about the brand and its initiatives can be found through Sanlorenzo’s official site and its presence on Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook.
