WDNA 88.9FM welcomes acclaimed guitarist, composer, arranger, producer, and educator Russ Spiegel to its Jazz Encounters series on Friday, October 10, 2025, at 8 p.m. The performance takes place in WDNA’s intimate Jazz Gallery, located at 2921 Coral Way, Miami. Tickets are available now at wdna.org, priced at $35 for WDNA members and $45 for non-members. Students may reserve a free ticket and are encouraged to bring their instruments to join an open jam session following the concert.
Curated by musician and educator Nicole Yarling, Jazz Encounters recently celebrated its 15th anniversary as a cornerstone of Miami’s music community. The series combines live concerts with interactive jam sessions, creating unique opportunities for audiences and students alike.
Russ Spiegel, known for blending rock, blues, funk, Latin, and post-modern jazz, has earned international recognition for his performances and compositions. All About Jazz praises his sound, noting, “Channeling the spirited energy of hard bop with the progressive aesthetics of rock music, Spiegel carves out his own niche in the contemporary jazz scene.”
In 2023, Spiegel released his seventh studio album, Caribbean Blue, to critical acclaim. In addition to touring and recording, he composes music for ensembles, film, and television, and is on faculty at both Florida International University’s Wertheim School of Music & Performing Arts and Miami Dade College, Kendall.
