Rosewood Hotel Group has taken a significant step forward in its commitment to sustainability and social responsibility with the unveiling of the Impact Trailblazers, a select group of six properties that are setting new standards for the entire portfolio and the broader hospitality industry.
Announced as part of the Rosewood Impacts initiative, these trailblazing hotels include Rosewood Hong Kong, Rosewood Baha Mar, Rosewood São Paulo, Rosewood Phnom Penh, Rosewood Mayakoba, and Rosewood Phuket. These properties are leading the charge in creating a future where luxury hospitality enriches both people and the environment.
The Impact Trailblazers have committed to achieving at least one of six ambitious goals by 2025, supplementing the broader targets shared by all 48 Rosewood properties. These goals include:
100% elimination of single-use plastics in both front and back of house
100% carbon neutrality
90% waste diversion
Local sourcing of 70% of produce and protein
Development of at least one meaningful and long-term community partnership
Transformation of at least one hotel restaurant into a "business with a purpose"
These goals are focused on creating substantial environmental and social impacts, integrating best practices and lessons learned to enhance the ever-evolving Rosewood Impacts roadmap.

Rosewood São Paulo is already making significant strides as an Impact Trailblazer. The hotel has achieved 90% waste diversion, operates on 100% renewable energy, and is committed to eliminating single-use plastics. Additionally, 70% of its produce and protein are sourced locally. Rosewood São Paulo exemplifies a people-first approach, with over 45% of its workforce coming from underserved groups, thereby boosting local businesses and rescuing ancestral traditions.

Rosewood Phuket: Meaningful Partnerships in Thailand
Rosewood Phuket stands out for its environmental sustainability and community empowerment efforts. The resort sources 70% of its produce and protein locally and has developed a significant long-term community investment. The resort's signature restaurant, Ta Khai, sources all its ingredients locally, with many coming from its own organic garden. The resort also houses the largest solar energy system in Phuket and has comprehensive recycling and wastewater treatment plants.
