Roham Shamekh, the Iranian multidisciplinary artist redefining experiential design in the Middle East, returns to Design Miami with a deeply personal and sensory-driven presentation. As part of the Design Miami 2025 Curio Programme, held December 3–7, the artist will debut ROOTS—a new collection consisting of a sculptural sofa, two side tables, and a painting, all unified through an immersive sound installation inspired by natural environments.

Shamekh (b. 1994), who has gained international recognition at fairs including Design Miami, Design Miami Paris, and others, is known for challenging boundaries across art, design, and architecture. His work embraces transformation, intentionality, and the emotional potential of physical space, positioning him as a key figure among today’s leading crossover artist-designers.
Based in Dubai, the artist leads an experimental studio rooted in collectible design and sensory living. His pieces extend beyond function—they are crafted as vehicles for self-reflection and inner grounding.

Last year, Shamekh’s Echos collection, created in collaboration with Pharrell Williams, garnered international attention and celebrity support, including from Rihanna. This year, ROOTS evolves that legacy through a multisensory booth experience. Guests will be invited to use headphones and an iPad to explore a layered soundscape that guides them through an introspective journey “back to their roots.”
At the center of the installation is a hand-carved sculptural sofa made of ceramic and epoxy resin, flanked by two organically shaped side tables reminiscent of branching root systems. A painting from the collection completes the space, reinforcing the organic visual language.
Beyond Miami, Shamekh will also present his Ovo collection at AP Gallery’s booth during the Nomad Design Fair in Abu Dhabi, taking place November 19–22, 2025.
