New World Symphony returns to the Adrienne Arsht Center on Saturday, January 10, with an orchestral program centered on jazz-infused American classics, extending the energy of the holiday season into the new year.

The evening features Rhapsody in Blue, reimagined through a collaboration between the orchestra and the Marcus Roberts Jazz Trio. Performed with full symphonic forces, George Gershwin’s iconic work is reshaped through improvisation, blending classical structure with contemporary jazz expression.
Conducted by Andrew Grams, the program also includes Duke Ellington’s swinging orchestral adaptation of The Nutcracker Suite, offering a jazz-forward reinterpretation of the seasonal favorite. Rounding out the night is Ellington’s Black, Brown and Beige, a landmark symphonic work exploring Black history and cultural identity—described by Wynton Marsalis as a singular achievement in the history of jazz.
The performance begins at 8:00 p.m., with early bird tickets starting at $35. Tickets are available through the New World Symphony ticketing portal.
