The Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital Foundation hosted its annual Red Gala at the Pier Sixty-Six Resort & Marina, bringing together healthcare advocates, community leaders, and longtime supporters for an evening focused on advancing pediatric heart care. The event generated more than $3 million for the hospital’s specialized programs, with additional contributions continuing to come in from attendees inspired by the hospital’s mission.

The funds will help strengthen critical services at the Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital Heart Institute, including treatment for congenital heart disease, heart failure, and pediatric heart transplantation. Support will also benefit other service lines that provide comprehensive care for children and families across South Florida.

The evening was led by Gala Chair Rita Case, President and CEO of Rick Case Automotive Group, alongside Kelley Morris, President of Memorial Foundation and Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital Foundation. Their leadership helped propel the event beyond its fundraising goals.

The sold-out gala featured a performance by Counting Crows, along with live and silent auctions that drew enthusiastic participation from guests. The atmosphere reflected a strong shared commitment to supporting children receiving lifesaving cardiac care.

The Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital Heart Institute provides continuous support for young patients, offering advanced diagnostics, surgery, and recovery services. Its team of specialists uses state-of-the-art technology, including one of the nation’s most advanced pediatric cardiac catheterization labs, which enables minimally invasive procedures designed to improve outcomes and shorten recovery times. As one of only two pediatric heart transplant programs in Florida — and recognized as one of the nation’s top 50 children’s hospitals — the institution remains a key resource for families seeking high-level cardiac care close to home.
