Premiere of "La Fille mal Gardée" by Cuban Classical Ballet of Miami

The Cuban Classical Ballet of Miami presents the premiere of “La Fille mal Gardée”, Saturday, May 6 at 8:00 p.m. and Sunday, May 7 at 5:00 pm at the Miami Dade County Auditorium, 2901 West Flagler Miami 33135
“La Fille mal Gardée”, ("The Poorly Guarded Girl"), celebrates the pastoral lives of 18th Century France, where love triumphs over material wealth.
A fun comic ballet with beautiful original sets from Russia, lovely costumes, and featuring Cuban ballet stars, is about a young precocious girl named Lise whose mother tries her best to keep her at home as she wants to marry her off to the son of a wealthy local businessman, but Lise is stubborn and in love with Colas, a local boy with little means, and she creates mayhem!
The ballet premiered at the Grande Théâtre in Bordeaux, France in 1789, just two weeks before the outbreak of the French Revolution, and is one of the oldest and most important works in the ballet repertory, having been kept alive throughout its long performance history by way of many revivals, changes of title, and has had no fewer than six scores!
