On Sunday, Roberto Clemente Park came alive with poetry, reggaeton, and Puerto Rican pride as O, Miami, in partnership with Bookleggers Library and La Mesa Boricua, hosted Poetry, Paperbacks & Piraguas.

The free, family-friendly event featured live plena music by Tribute de Plena, children’s art activities, and free books distributed by Bookleggers Library. Guests also enjoyed traditional Puerto Rican dishes like arroz con gandulez and pernil from El Bori food truck, along with refreshing piraguas.
A highlight of the afternoon was the Benito Look-Alike Contest, where participants of all ages dressed as reggaeton superstar Bad Bunny and recited favorite lyrics. The contest drew a lively crowd and celebrated self-expression through poetry and music. Three-year-old Marcelo won second place for his crowd-pleasing performance, while Kevin Amaro was named the winner and awarded a one-year EL Car Wash membership.
The event took place in Wynwood, a neighborhood historically known as “Little San Juan” for its strong Puerto Rican roots. It served as a joyful tribute to community, creativity, and cultural pride.
