Miami’s design footprint on the global stage just got bolder. Pininfarina of America—headquartered in Miami and celebrated for its Italian elegance and forward-thinking design—has announced the next chapter in its dynamic partnership with California-based AC Future

The duo is unveiling three groundbreaking AI-powered housing solutions at CES 2025 in Las Vegas: the AI-THu (AI Transformer Home Unit), the AI-THt (AI Transformer Home Trailer), and the AI-THd (AI Transformer Home Drivable). These modular, sustainable homes promise to redefine compact and mobile living through sleek design, off-grid flexibility, and cutting-edge AI integration.

This collaboration builds upon Pininfarina’s debut concept for AC Future introduced at CES 2024, which was honored with accolades including Fast Company’s Design by Innovation Honorary Mention and two Good Design awards. Now, with products officially entering the market, the partnership represents a real-world solution to global housing demands—blending mobility, sustainability, and design sophistication.

“We are proud to continue our journey with AC Future in Pininfarina’s relentless pursuit of excellence in design and innovation,” said Paolo Trevisan, Vice President of Design at Pininfarina of America. “These projects exemplify our vision of creating adaptable, efficient, and visually appealing environmental living solutions.”

The AI-THu, priced from $98,000, is the first unit available and designed to function as a compact smart home that can be installed on- or off-grid. Featuring 400 square feet of transformable interior space and 40 square feet of patio, it integrates solar energy, a water generator, and AI home automation. The unit is ideal for backyards, vacation properties, or temporary housing solutions, and can be expanded to up to 1,200 square feet.

The AI-THt, a trailer model without a front driving cabin, prioritizes interior spaciousness and architectural design, offering an aerodynamic, double-size expandable living space. It suits those seeking a high-end mobile lifestyle with reduced carbon footprint and high-tech amenities.

Meanwhile, the AI-THd—originally introduced in concept form—is a drivable smart home that transforms from an RV into a full-sized residential unit. With flexible interiors and integrated AI systems, it delivers the ultimate freedom for on-the-go living.

“Our collaboration with Pininfarina has developed sustainable living designs that are beautiful and adaptable to the evolving needs of modern living,” said Laura Czarnecki, Co-CEO of AC Future. “These are more than homes—they’re platforms for innovation and change.”

Pininfarina of America, with design studios in both Miami and New York, continues to lead global conversations around sustainable architecture and mobility. The three new AI-TH models will be showcased during CES 2025 (Jan 7–10, Las Vegas, North Hall, Booth 10515), with pre-orders now available at www.acfuture.com. Deliveries are expected in Q4 2026.

As Miami further establishes itself as a global hub for design and technology, Pininfarina’s role in shaping a smarter, more sustainable way of living—one that adapts to the real-world challenges of today—has never been more relevant.
