Percezioni: The Poliform Project for the Presentation of the 2023 Outdoor Collection

Poliform presents Percezioni, a project inspired by reflections on the meaning of design and man’s relationship with nature.

An installation dedicated to the senses, which celebrates the beauty of nature and simplicity of the material.

In the cloisters of San Simpliciano, in Brera, an evocative expanse of black lapilli serves as the exclusive setting hosting the new outdoor collection, creating a meditative space for you to stop and tune in to your senses. A proposal that transforms one of the most striking areas of the Brera Design District into a calm and beautiful place.

The installation was inspired by reflections on the relationship between man, nature and the landscape; reflections that also inspired the design of the new outdoor collection, whose take on modern living is based on the quality and flow of the setting.

While architecture determines the boundaries and meanings of our lives within domestic spaces and collective places, nature does the very same thing when we are outside. The horizon is the landscape and our perceptions are magnified: light is brighter and darkness, like the smells, noises, and sensations on our skin, is more intense.

In the cloisters of San Simpliciano, in a secret hidden corner of Milan, the landscape is characterised by Renaissance-era architecture and the horizon follows the lines of the basilica, porticoes and cross vaults.

Here, Poliform blends old and new, artistic expression and natural presence to exceptional effect. This combination is also reflected in the sound: as well as the echo of the lapilli under our footsteps, other sounds and music amplify our self-perception.

Percezioni will be open to the public during Milan Design Week.
