Pérez Art Museum Miami will host its 13th annual Art + Soul Celebration on Saturday, February 7, 2026, honoring pioneering artist and cultural ambassador Fab 5 Freddy. The evening supports the PAMM Fund for Black Art and includes the reveal of a new artwork selected for the museum’s permanent collection.

Held in Miami, Art + Soul has become one of the museum’s leading fundraising and social events, bringing together artists, collectors, and supporters of contemporary Black art. The 2026 celebration is led by co-chairs Holly and Eric G. Johnson, Tracey Robertson Carter and Christopher Carter, and Patricia Howell.
Fab 5 Freddy is recognized for bridging art, music, television, and film, helping shape global pop culture in the 1980s. He played a key role in the transition of graffiti from the streets into galleries and was the original co-host of Yo! MTV Raps. His work also includes the cult film Wild Style, which he co-produced and starred in. In March 2026, he will release the memoir Everybody’s Fly with Penguin Random House, reflecting on the cultural movement he helped define.

The evening program includes cocktails, music by Deep Fried Funk and DJ Aya, dancing, and a curated dinner by Chef Raheem Sealey. PAMM Ambassadors for Black Art will also unveil the fund’s latest acquisition, continuing the museum’s commitment to collecting and presenting contemporary works by Black artists.
Since its launch in 2013, Art + Soul has raised more than $8.4 million for the PAMM Fund for Black Art, supporting the acquisition of 28 works for the permanent collection. In 2025 alone, the event raised over $1.4 million and announced the acquisition of Lauren Halsey’s lil e-man (2024).
Proceeds from Art + Soul directly benefit the PAMM Fund for Black Art, an initiative that supports long-term access, visibility, and preservation of Black artistic voices within the museum’s collection and programming at Pérez Art Museum Miami.

Tickets and sponsorship opportunities for Art + Soul 2026 are now available through the museum’s website, where guests can find full event details and secure reservations.
