Out In the Field - Dine in the Middle of a Farm for Lunch by chef Niven Patel
Have you ever stumbled upon perfectly-plated, farm-fresh meals in a dreamy meadow on Instagram via the page @Out_InTheField? The photogenic event, which has been regarded as “pop-up restaurants in a farm field,” by AFAR, features long communal tables in nature and chef-driven outdoor dining experiences. If the answer is yes, you’re in luck! The event is officially coming to South Fla. on Saturday, Jan. 15, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. with a curated menu by 3x James Beard nominee, chef Niven Patel, owner of Miami restaurants, Orno, Mamey and Ghee. He was also listed as Food & Wine Magazine’s Best New Chefs of 2020.
Admired by foodies, Outstanding in the Field has popped-up all over the world - from the foothills of Mount Fuji to California’s Stinson Beach. The event brings chefs, farmers, and the public together for an elaborate meal in a rustic and peaceful setting.
This event will take place at Holman’s Harvest farm in Loxahatchee Groves, FL (Palm Beach County), a small family farm owned by Marty and Liza Holman with chef Patel preparing dishes for guests.
Diners will get the opportunity to dine alongside lush beds of organically-grown vegetables, the coconut groves, tropical fruit trees and maybe a flock of free-running pastured hens. Chef Patel has curated a multi-course menu that showcases Holman’s Harvest’s bounty of freshly-picked produce. Chef Patel is no stranger to preparing dishes with fresh local ingredients, as he owns his own farm, Rancho Patel, in Homestead, Fla. and draws culinary inspirations from the fresh ingredients that rotate with the seasons.
