Oscar de la Renta: Inspired by the Splendor of Nature

The Oscar de la Renta Fall/Winter 2021 collection is a tribute to late summer, when sunflowers and wildflowers radiate in glorious full bloom. The collection has its origins in flowers gathered and pressed in collaboration with artist Tricia Paoluccio.

Tailored jackets and dresses are highlighted by a round scoop neck and embellished with metallic belts and ornamental buttons. Tone-on-tone color-blocking reigns for daywear in knits and crepe, elegant in an end-of-summer palette in muted shades of lavender, mint green, turquoise, and saffron.

Caftans are richly textured and begin to hint at the bows that evolve throughout the collection. Market flowers wrapped in craft paper and tied with raffia ribbon are the muse behind the concept, with bows rendered in crepe, taffeta, metallics, and crystal.

The collection reaches a crescendo with a tulle ball gown, ablaze with crystalized bows and featuring an open back and high neck. Distinctively, ethereally feminine, this spectacular creation was 120 hours in the making and is the definitive Oscar de la Renta statement.
