November at MOCA North Miami! Fall Exhibitions, Yoga, Sound Healing and Poetry

See what's happening at MOCA North Miami this season:
Firstly, Andrea Chung’s Between Too Late and Too Early and Smita Sen’s Embodied are now open to the public. Through film, collage, sculpture, and live performance, these presentations together explore motherhood, grief, dance the Trantsatlantic slave trade, and healing through movement and memorializing.

To celebrate these two exhibitions, join them on Tuesday, December 3rd, during Miami Art Week for a public reception. Beginning at 8:30 pm ET, the evening will kick-off with an opportunity to explore both exhibitions, enjoy live music, and savor local cuisine. Festivities will culminate with a live dance performance by Smita Sen, which reflects themes central to her exhibition, including memory, grief, and spatial expression, offering a moving extension of her artistic practice. Additionally, a reminder about this weekend’s event, The Reset on Saturday, November 16! A free community event centering joy, healing, and art, The Reset is poised as a love letter to Miami and the movement for social change and will be a shared moment for pause and reflection and a space focused on the power of the collective.
From 10am-4pm, guests may enjoy a unique gathering filled with wellness offerings like yoga, reiki, herbalism, and sound healing, poetry readings, performances by DJ FlyGuy, The People's Choir, and Jacareo bringing bomba y plena tunes.
The Reset will also include food trucks, museum tours, art making, and panel discussions with local community pillars, like artist Smita Sen. Other expected panelists include Former Senator Dwight Bullard and Ruth Jeannoel, Founder and Executive Director of Fanm Saj. RSVP here.
JAZZ at MOCA featuring Ben Beals – November 29 – 8PM
On November 29, join them for JAZZ at MOCA featuring Ben Beals. Ben Beals is one of South Florida’s most in demand vocalists and pianists, with a sound reminiscent of Nat Cole, Chet Baker, and Mel Torme. Recent performance highlights include the Groundup Festival on Miami Beach with Shelly Berg, accompanying Joe Piscopo, several tours with Miami funk outfit Soulpax, and touring with the Mexican singer Cristian Castro.
