New World Symphony Announces Valentine’s Special and PBS Series Premiere

New World Symphony (NWS) has launched a holiday ticket promotion and announced the premiere of a documentary series spotlighting its Fellows. The organization is offering a 50 percent discount for its upcoming performance of Maurice Ravel’s Daphnis and Chloé at the Adrienne Arsht Center.

The program, scheduled for March 7 at 8:00 p.m., features mezzo-soprano Kelley O’Connor performing musical settings of Pablo Neruda’s love poems. Artistic Director Stéphane Denève will then lead the orchestra through the complete score of Daphnis and Chloé. Guests can use the promo code CUPID50 through February 14 to access the discount.

Beyond the concert hall, NWS is collaborating with Great Performances on a four-part documentary series titled Chasing Crescendos. Premiering February 11, 2026, the series follows the daily routines and professional ambitions of NWS Fellows. Episodes will be available weekly on PBS.org and the PBS App.

The February schedule also includes:

  • February 14: A free Encore WALLCAST Concert featuring Michael Tilson Thomas and Nicola Benedetti at SoundScape Park.

  • February 15: A chamber program titled Serenading the Tempest at the New World Center, featuring baritone Thomas Meglioranza and works by Kaija Saariaho and Stravinsky.

These announcements follow a recent debut by conductor Ryan Bancroft, who led the orchestra in a program featuring works by Charles Ives and Aaron Copland, as well as a co-commissioned piece by Valerie Coleman.
