New World Symphony Opens 2025–26 Season Subscriptions in Miami
New World Symphony has opened subscriptions for its 2025–26 season in Miami, outlining key programs that feature major symphonic works and guest artists while preparing for the final performances of the current season.
The 2025–26 season will include a program built around Ravel’s Boléro, led by Artistic Director Stéphane Denève with violinist Anne Akiko Meyers, and a performance of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9, Ode to Joy, at New World Center. Mozart’s Requiem will be conducted by Stephanie Childress at the Adrienne Arsht Center in Downtown Miami, and a program of works by Steve Reich, Igor Stravinsky and Philip Glass will feature violinist Jennifer Koh in Glass’s First Violin Concerto.
Ahead of next season, the 2025–26 subscription campaign launches as the current season approaches its close, with a final BLUE Concert titled Musicians’ Mixtape and a concluding program on May 2 and 3 that pairs music by George Gershwin and Leonard Bernstein under the direction of Denève with pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet.
The announcement follows news that New World Symphony’s Co-Founder and Artistic Director Laureate Michael Tilson Thomas died at home on Wednesday, April 22, surrounded by family and friends. The organization noted his impact as a creative risk-taker and independent thinker who helped establish the orchestra’s training model and global network of artist leaders.
