New World Symphony has concluded its 2025–26 season with a concert honoring co-founders Michael Tilson Thomas and Lin Arison, while also unveiling key programs for its 2026–27 subscription season in Miami.

The season finale at the Frank Gehry-designed New World Center featured Stéphane Denève, pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet and the New World Symphony Fellows in a French-American program of Gershwin and Bernstein. Works included “I Got Rhythm,” led by NWS Conducting Fellow Ziwei Ma, and “An American in Paris,” presented with the venue’s immersive technology and architecture. South Florida Classical Review called the concert “a fitting tribute to Michael Tilson Thomas, a seminal artist whose legacy through the New World Fellows, past and present, will be felt for decades to come.”
Looking ahead to 2026–27, New World Symphony plans a season that includes Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony, with Denève conducting “Ode to Joy” at New World Center, Mozart’s Requiem led by Stephanie Childress in Downtown Miami, Prokofiev’s Violin Concertos Nos. 1 and 2 with soloist James Ehnes, Bach’s Brandenburg Concertos with Baroque specialist Jeannette Sorrell, and Mahler’s First Symphony paired with Gabriela Montero performing Shostakovich’s Piano Concerto No. 1.

Select performances from the 2025–26 season are now available to stream for free on NWS Inside and additional event information is listed on the orchestra’s official site.
