The New World Symphony (NWS) has unveiled its 2026-27 WALLCAST® Concert Series, bringing seven free outdoor performances to Miami Beach's SoundScape Park. The popular series broadcasts live concerts from the Michael Tilson Thomas Performance Hall onto the New World Center's 7,000-square-foot exterior projection wall, allowing audiences to enjoy world-class orchestral music under the stars.

The season opens Saturday, October 10, 2026, at 7:30 p.m. with Artistic Director Stéphane Denève leading the NWS Fellows in Beethoven's Symphony No. 9, one of classical music's most celebrated works. The program also features Michael Tilson Thomas' Notturno, performed by flutist Demarre McGill, and Mahler's Adagietto from Symphony No. 5. Joining the orchestra are soprano Ellie Dehn, mezzo-soprano Tamara Mumford, tenor Sean Panikkar, baritone Dashon Burton, and the Master Chorale of South Florida under chorus master Brett Karlin.

The free series continues throughout the season with a diverse lineup of orchestral works and acclaimed guest artists. On November 21, Denève conducts an all-Prokofiev program featuring renowned violinist James Ehnes. December 12 brings Brahms' Symphony No. 3 alongside the New World Symphony debut of the Grammy-winning trio Time for Three, performing Kevin Puts' Contact. A week later, on December 19, audiences are invited back for the annual Sounds of the Season holiday concert led by NWS Conducting Fellow Ziwei Ma.

The new year begins on January 30, 2027, with Denève conducting works by Stravinsky and Ravel, featuring mezzo-soprano Isabel Leonard. On February 20, pianist Gabriela Montero joins the orchestra for a program including music by Grażyna Bacewicz, Dmitri Shostakovich, and Mahler's Symphony No. 1, "Titan." The season concludes on May 1 with saxophonist Steven Banks performing a dynamic program of works by George Gershwin, John Adams, Guillaume Connesson, Carlos Simon, and Arthur Honegger.

Since the opening of the New World Center in 2011, WALLCAST® concerts have become one of Miami Beach's signature cultural events, attracting thousands of residents and visitors each season. Recent upgrades funded through the City of Miami Beach's General Obligation Bond Program have enhanced the experience with 4K Ultra HD projection and a new energy-efficient audio system that delivers greater clarity and depth throughout SoundScape Park.

The innovative production has also earned national recognition. In 2025, the New World Symphony's production team received a Suncoast Emmy® Award for Live-Stream Audio Mixing, honoring the work of Roberto Toledo, Audio Technician and Director of Audio Services.

All WALLCAST® performances are free and open to the public, with audiences encouraged to bring blankets, lawn chairs and picnic baskets for an evening of live music in SoundScape Park.
