Morgan Riddle on Blending Digital Media, Fashion, and Tennis at the Miami Open

Meet Morgan Riddle, Taylor Fritz’s girlfriend and a defining voice at the intersection of tennis, fashion, and digital media. As the partner of America’s highest-ranked tennis player, Taylor Fritz, Morgan seamlessly blends the sport’s rich tradition with modern style and culture.

A content creator and influencer, she’s made it her mission to bring new audiences—especially women—into the world of tennis, offering a fresh perspective beyond just match stats. From her courtside fashion to behind-the-scenes glimpses of life on the ATP tour with Taylor, Morgan sat down with Miami Living to discuss her Miami Open tennis tournament experience, fashion inspirations, favorite spots in the city, and what’s next on her ever-evolving journey.

Miami Living: How was your Miami Open experience this year? Any standout moments from the tournament?

Morgan Riddle: It’s been great! The tournament held a Women’s Empowerment day and I was invited to speak on a panel along with former WTA player Martina Navratilova and Jenny Nguyen, who founded the first only womens-sports sports bar. It’s been really great to be recognized as having a hand in the shift and growth of women in sports.

Miami Living: What’s your game-day routine? Any rituals or superstitions?

Morgan Riddle: My non-negotiable every morning is an outdoor walk and a meditation. As glam as the lifestyle is—it’s also stressful and unsettling so it’s been a priority for me to really stick to my routines and rituals for my mental health. A lot of my work and success relies on my ability to be creative and on-the-pulse so I have to make sure that I’m well rested and grounded so I can jump into that as soon as I arrive at the tournament.

Miami Living: You had some incredible looks throughout the tournament! Which style was your personal favorite and why? Can you go in depth about bringing this look together?

Morgan Riddle: Thank you! My favorite looks I wore this week were a very tennis-core Lacoste outfit that I wore for a pre-launch event of theirs, or Thom Browne for a match day. I wore Thom Browne for the first time at US Open semi finals and have worn them multiple times since, the brand is very “me.” My stylist, Emily Essen, is a mastermind.

Miami Living: What was the overall style vibe you noticed at the tournament? Any major fashion trends that stood out this year?

Morgan Riddle: The top thing that stood out to me was how much blue I saw! I think shades of blue—specifically baby blue—will be very popular this spring/summer.

Miami Living: Were there any designers or brands that played a big role in your Miami Open wardrobe?

Morgan Riddle: Thom Browne, Staud, Miu Miu. I also just snagged a tote from Moynat who just opened their second in-person shop in the US and it’s fab for match days—can fit so much. I call these my “Mary Poppins” bags.

Miami Living: How does the sport influence your style? Are there any fashion icons you look up to, or unique places you draw inspiration from?

Morgan Riddle: I have said for years my biggest inspiration for matches doesn’t come from a person but from the city. Being on tour means constantly bouncing between cities with totally different aesthetics and energy, and that always seeps into how I dress. Tokyo makes me want to wear structured, minimal pieces. Paris brings out the vintage, romantic side of my style. Miami is full of glam, color, and textures. I love pulling inspo from the places we go and mixing it with classic tennis references like crisp whites, pleats, and sporty details. In Australia I wear Australian designers, in the UK I wear British designers. I’m so grateful to be able to travel and experience so many different cultures and the cities influence my outfit choices heavily - whether it’s a designer or just a vibe.

Miami Living: You’ve spent a lot of time in Miami—what are your absolute must-visit spots in the city? Any new spots or hidden gems you discovered while in town?

Morgan Riddle: I’m really into BigFace right now—Jimmy Butler’s coffee shop. I’ve been going there every morning for my daily coffee and the aesthetic is very Shanghai. Taylor and I also love dinner at COTE in the Design District. Their wedge salad is one of my favorite dishes I’ve ever had.

Miami Living: Between matches and events, what were some of your favorite things you did around the city? What was the ultimate highlight of your trip?

Morgan Riddle: I went to the Coconut Grove Farmers market for the first time! I had seen a TikTok of it a few days before which inspired me to go and get produce for the week. This is the one tournament where we actually get to be “home” since we have a place in Miami so I try to take advantage of the access to a kitchen.

Miami Living: You’ve been immersed in the tennis world for years now. How has your perspective on the sport evolved since being with Taylor?

Morgan Riddle: Honestly, it’s changed a lot. When I first started going to Taylor’s matches, I didn’t fully understand the sport—I was kind of just there to support him. But over time, I’ve developed such a deeper appreciation for how intense and nuanced tennis is. It’s not just physical, it’s insanely mental. And being around it constantly, traveling on tour, seeing the ups and downs, the pressure—it’s given me a whole new respect for the players. It’s also made me realize how much opportunity there is to bring new people into the sport, especially women and younger audiences who maybe didn’t feel like it was for them. That’s something I’ve really leaned into with my content.

Miami Living: With Taylor competing at the highest level, what’s the most exciting part about being alongside him on this journey?

Morgan Riddle: It’s wild in the best way. One day you’re watching him play center court in front of thousands of people, and the next you’re in some random gross airport at 2 a.m. eating vending machine snacks. It’s a rollercoaster—but seeing how much work and sacrifice goes into competing at that level gives you a whole new appreciation for the sport. The most exciting part is watching him chase something he’s obsessed with. It’s rare to witness that kind of drive up close, and I feel lucky I get to be part of it with someone I love—even if it means living out of a suitcase.

Miami Living: Tennis is such a global sport. What’s been your favorite tournament destination so far, and how does Miami compare?

Morgan Riddle: My number one is Tokyo. I’m obsessed with the food, the fashion, the organization—everything runs so smoothly, it genuinely kind of ruined other cities for me. Miami, on the other hand, is chaotic in a very Florida way, which is fun in small doses. I love that the tournament here feels like a party, though—it’s probably the best vibe if you’re new to tennis and just want to show up and have a good time. There’s also a really wonderful side of Miami that is health and wellness heavy which I love.

Miami Living: You’ve built such a unique space at the intersection of fashion and tennis. What inspired you to start sharing this world with your audience?

Morgan Riddle: I noticed that most tennis coverage was... dry. Stats, scores, and not much else. Meanwhile, I was showing up to matches in outfits and seeing other girls do the same, but there was no one really talking about that side of the sport—how fashion, travel, and culture all intersect with tennis. So I just started filming. I wasn’t trying to build anything huge, but it turns out there are a lot of people who care about this world beyond the scoreboard.

Miami Living: What about your platform is the most rewarding, and what is the most challenging?

Morgan Riddle: The most rewarding part is when someone tells me they got into tennis because of something I posted, or they felt seen in a space that didn’t feel super inclusive before. I’ve spent years learning how to craft a brand that’s recognizable, relevant, and intentional. From the tone of my voice in videos to the way I edit, the culture references I include, to the way that I dress, the topics I talk about — none of it is random. I didn’t want to just be seen as someone who showed up or fell into this space or saw someone else doing it and decided to replicate it. I wanted to shift the space — in tennis, in fashion, in the culture of female sports spectators. The most challenging part is probably just how constant everything is. There’s no off-season for the internet. I could be at a match, in a hotel, on a plane—and still editing a video or answering emails. It’s amazing, but it’s definitely not as glamorous as it looks on Instagram.

Miami Living: Tennis has always had a strong connection to fashion. How do you see the sport’s style evolving in new ways?

Morgan Riddle: I think players are taking more risks, and the brands are catching up. We’re seeing more collaborations with designers outside the traditional sportswear world, and people are realizing that tennis doesn’t have to mean pleats and polos all the time. Off-court fashion is where it gets really interesting too—what players wear to press or to walk on court is becoming a moment. The sport is slowly getting its cool factor back, and I’m here for it.

Miami Living: What’s next for you after Miami—any upcoming fashion collaborations, travel plans, tennis events or career moves on the horizon?

Morgan Riddle: Yes! Definitely more travel—clay season is coming so Europe’s about to take over my calendar. A couple fashion things are in the works that I’m really excited about, and I’ve been working on a project outside of tennis that’s more about activism and media. It’s early days, but it’s something I’ve been thinking about for a long time and I think is important right now.
