Molteni&C Introduces the Lia Armchair

Molteni&C expands its seating collection with Lia, an armchair designed by Copenhagen-based studio GamFratesi that brings together Scandinavian influences and Italian craftsmanship.
The design centers on a suspended seat supported by a slender metal frame, giving the chair a lighter visual presence while maintaining a defined structure. Oak introduces warmth to the composition, creating a contrast with the metal elements.
One of Lia’s most recognizable details is its curved, scythe-shaped armrests. The form reflects GamFratesi’s approach to combining clean Nordic lines with details rooted in Italian furniture design.
Material also plays an important role. The upholstered seat is available in a selection of finishes, allowing the armchair to be adapted to different interiors while adding softness to its wood and metal construction.
The result is a piece that balances structure and comfort without relying on excessive ornamentation. Its proportions and combination of materials make Lia suitable for residential living spaces as well as hospitality environments.
GamFratesi, founded by Stine Gam and Enrico Fratesi, is known for bringing together Danish design traditions and Italian influences. With Lia, that combination translates into an armchair defined by its suspended construction, curved armrests and restrained use of materials.
