Miss Universe 2024 Honored with Keys to the City at Gary Nader Art Centre
The newly crowned Miss Universe 2024, Victoria Kjær Theilvig, was officially honored with the Keys to the City of Miami in a ceremony held on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at the Gary Nader Art Centre. Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava awarded the prestigious distinction, recognizing Theilvig's achievements as a global ambassador for empowerment, inclusion, and leadership.
Miami served as the first official destination for Miss Universe 2024, underscoring the city’s reputation as a global hub for culture, art, and female empowerment. The event drew local and international media, Miami-Dade commissioners, and prominent figures such as Raúl Rocha, President of the Miss Universe Organization; music producer Emilio Estefan; and interior designer Adriana Hoyos.
The event celebrated Miss Universe’s role in inspiring women worldwide, a mission closely aligned with the Gary Nader Art Centre's focus on promoting cultural diversity and global dialogue through art. Gary Nader, founder of the center, also announced a new initiative to bring the Miss Universe 2026 competition to Miami. The proposal, supported by Raúl Rocha, highlights their shared goal of cementing Miami as a leader in cultural and artistic endeavors while championing female empowerment.
“We are deeply honored to have hosted such a momentous ceremony,” said Nader. “This collaboration reflects our mission to connect art, culture, and empowerment, and we are confident that the competition will further inspire and elevate women globally.”
Raúl Rocha expressed gratitude for Miami’s gesture, emphasizing the economic and cultural opportunities the partnership could generate for the region. The ceremony was made possible with support from sponsors, including the interior design brand Adriana Hoyos.
