Mini-Me Science: Florida Forests Program Returns to Miami on September 20
Families with young children will have an opportunity to explore a South Florida forest ecosystem on Sunday, September 20, during the Mini-Me Science: Into the Wild – Florida Forests program at Ron Ehmann Park in Miami, organized by the Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science.
Designed for children ages 3 to 6 and their families, the session introduces participants to plants and animals that live in South Florida and includes hands-on activities and nature-based investigations in a Pine Rockland habitat. Families will learn how field biologists study the natural world while exploring one of the region’s rare forest ecosystems.
The program runs from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Ron Ehmann Park, 10995 SW 97th Ave, Miami, FL 33176, and includes snacks and water. Sessions last about two and a half hours and are open only to children ages 3 to 6, who must be accompanied by an adult, with additional adults and older siblings able to join for an extra registration fee.
The event is offered in collaboration with Miami-Dade County Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces, and space is limited. Organizers recommend arriving 15 minutes before the program start time.
