Miles for Smiles 5K on the Runway Returns to Pompano Beach Airpark on Nov. 7, 2026
The 23rd Annual Miles for Smiles 5K on the Runway, presented by Birdi Aviation and benefiting Broward Children’s Center, will be held at Pompano Beach Airpark on Saturday, Nov. 7, 2026.
Runners, walkers, families and community members of all ages, including participants using wheelchairs and strollers, are invited to take part in a timed 5K on the runway to raise funds and awareness for Broward Children’s Center. The event will include children’s activities, live entertainment, a DJ, raffles, an awards ceremony and photo opportunities.
Children who receive care at Broward Children’s Center, including those who use electric wheelchairs, are expected to join the route with support from volunteers from local nursing programs, Broward County Schools and Nova University. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Center’s medical, developmental and therapeutic services for developmentally disabled and medically fragile infants, children and young adults, and their families.
Participants may register as individuals or teams and can fundraise online before race day. Race-day check in will open at 7 a.m., the 5K will start at 9 a.m., and awards will follow at 10 a.m., with timing and scoring for all runners and medals and T-shirts provided to participants.
