Mickalene Thomas Wraps McLaren for DART Car’s Miami Debut– May 2–4

This May, the Miami Design District welcomes a groundbreaking collaboration at the intersection of motorsport and contemporary art.
Driven Artists Racing Team (DART Car)—a mission-driven, female-led motorsports team—will debut with a McLaren Artura GT4 racecar wrapped in original artwork by acclaimed artist Mickalene Thomas, who also designed bespoke driving suits and hand-painted helmets for team co-founders Aurora Straus and Zoë Barry, the latter making her professional racing debut this season.
The one-of-a-kind art car will be on view May 2 at The Moore, and May 3–4 in Paradise Plaza. Founded by Zoë Barry, Spring McManus, and Aurora Straus, DART Car aims to elevate women’s achievements in the traditionally male-dominated arenas of racing and fine art.
