Michael Kors Toasts New Rodeo Drive Store with Star-Studded Night

Michael Kors is pleased to announce the opening of a new Michael Kors Collection store at 242 N. Rodeo Drive, within the Two Rodeo Drive shopping destination, in Beverly Hills. The brand fêted the opening with a glamorous evening combining the best of Los Angeles. Guests including Gabrielle Union-Wade, Olivia Wilde, Kerry Washington, Mindy Kaling and more joined designer Michael Kors at beloved Canter’s Deli, with a menu by L.A.’s iconic Spago. Partygoers were treated to a vibrant performance by DJ Kitty Ca$h as they toasted the designer’s luxurious new shopping destination.

“Beverly Hills is one of the few places in the world where you can get the speed of big-city life blended with a resort-like glamour,” says Michael Kors. “From the impressive architecture to the restaurants, world-class people-watching and the shopping, it has the best of everything. I am very excited to bring Michael Kors Collection back to one of the most legendary locations on the planet. Rodeo Drive is a very special place for me personally, as my family moved to Beverly Hills back in the Seventies and the street has always been an epicenter of luxury and glamour.”

The new 1,500-square-foot Michael Kors Collection store conveys a spare yet luxurious residential feel. The space incorporates a mix of materials and textures, ranging from blackened steel and raw concrete to antique brass, gold Calacatta marble and oxidized maple. Luxe textiles add warmth and tactile drama to the mix of stone, wood and metal, all rendered in a clean, neutral palette.

The street level immerses customers in the world of Michael Kors Collection, with a large video wall and a rich product display area featuring walnut shelves and a black marble nesting table. A minimalistic storefront with a wide, open glass window entrance offers maximum visibility from the street and envelops the store in the warm California natural light.

The lower level is a study in chic, geometric elegance, with ceiling-hung apparel bars lining the perimeter and dramatic marble tables running the length of the store. The simple palette of grey, white, black and brass serves as an understated backdrop for Michael Kors Collection handbags and accessories. Curated mannequin groupings showcase the spectrum of product available in the store.
