Updated: Nov 29, 2022
Michael Elkins, Esq., founder and partner of Fort Lauderdale-based MLE Law, was recently recognized in the 2022 edition of Florida Trend’s Florida Legal Elite™. The list of 1,122 honorees represents just over 1% of the active Florida Bar members, including attorneys in private practice as well as top government and non-profit attorneys who practice in Florida.
For the 19th year, Florida Legal Elite has presented its prestigious roster of attorneys chosen for recognition by their peers. The honorees exemplify a standard of excellence in their profession and garnered the respect and esteem of their colleagues.
Elkins focuses his practice on labor and employment, business and sports law. He is a national resource on labor and employment matters and provided extensive commentary during the COVID-19 pandemic. Elkins is a 20+ year litigation attorney representing businesses, municipalities and individuals in labor and employment matters as well as providing outside General Counsel services.
“I am proud to once again be recognized by Florida Trend’s Florida Legal Elite,” said Elkins. “It’s an honor to be nominated by my peers for this prestigious recognition as I continue to use technology and find new ways to make the legal profession more efficient.”
Elkins is disrupting how lawyers attract and retain business. As the creator and host of the “Quarter Four” podcast, which he founded in 2018, he is using modern media to not only promote MLE Law, but his overall brand. The podcast covers the intersection between business and sports, providing listeners an inside look into the psychology of what makes individuals successful on and off the field.
Florida Trend invited all actively practicing Florida lawyers to name the attorneys that they hold in highest regard – lawyers with whom they have personally worked and would recommend to others.
“Florida Trend’s Legal Elite program is an opportunity to celebrate Florida Bar members from a wide range of practice areas who have earned a high level of respect and esteem from their peers. The Florida Bar applauds those who were selected for this prestigious honor, which reflects their commitment to excellence and professionalism in the field of law,” notes The Florida Bar President Michael G. Tanner.
“Now in its 19th year, the Florida Legal Elite, published in Florida Trend's July issue, provides its 270,000 readers with a peer-reviewed resource listing of the best lawyers in the state,” says Publisher David G. Denor.
