Miami’s First-Ever Dad Walk in Coconut Grove Ahead of Father’s Day Hosted by Local Artist Wilo

Coconut Grove will come alive with the first-ever “Miami Dad Walk,” a heartwarming Father’s Day-inspired event led by community leader and recording artist Jonathan Wieslow (aka Wilo). Supported by beloved local businesses and community partners—including Fireman Derek’s Bake Shop, Vita Coco, Michelob Ultra, Coco Cigars, Quintaleza Tequila, and the Coconut Grove Library—the walk starting at 9:30am invites fathers (many pushing strollers) and families to come together in celebration of fatherhood and community.

In partnership with the Overtown Youth Center, the event also aims to give back, with donation bins available during check-in to collect items for local families in need such as gently used clothing, school supplies, books, and more. See a full approved donations list here.

The walk will begin at CocoWalk, winding through Coconut Grove’s most iconic streets, including Peacock Park, Bayshore Drive, and Panamerican Drive, before culminating in a lively, family-friendly experience zone at the Coconut Grove Library.

“With Father’s Day coming up, the Miami Dad Walk is a chance for us dads to really show up—not just for one day, but every day we get to be there for our kids,” shared Wilo. “It’s about celebrating the strength and love of fathers, and making sure our community knows we’re here, supporting each other every step of the way.”

In addition to the walk, attendees can enjoy a variety of community-led activations and sponsor-supported moments throughout the morning:.

  • Sweet treats from Fireman Derek’s Bake Shop.

  • Chilled coconut water from Vita Coco.

  • Michelob Ultra tent with drinks (21+).

  • Post-walk 21+ experience hosted by Coco Cigars and Quintaleza Tequila.

  • Story time corner with curated book readings by Coconut Grove Library.

  • Free family portraits at the photo station.

The event is free and open to all, just RSVP at the Eventbrite link! The Miami Dad Walk welcomes fathers, families, and supporters of all kinds to come together in celebration of parenthood. Whether you're a first-time dad or a seasoned pro, it’s a chance to walk in unity, connect with others, and honor the everyday moments that make fatherhood meaningful. Attendees are encouraged to share their experience on social media using #DadWalkMiami, #CoconutGroveDads, and #FatherhoodMatters to spread the message of community, connection, and fatherhood.

The event follows the release of Wilo’s latest single, “Girl Dad,” which drops on June 6. The song is a heartfelt tribute to the unique bond between father and daughter. Rooted in Wilo’s real-life experience as a proud girl dad, the track offers a rare glimpse into the emotional landscape of fatherhood, exploring themes of protection, vulnerability, unconditional love, and the quiet joy found in everyday moments.

Please note: The walk will take place rain or shine. In the event of inclement weather, activities may be adjusted accordingly, but the spirit of the event will carry on.
