Miami Open concluded its penultimate day with a three-set battle in the women’s final as Aryna Sabalenka defeated Coco Gauff 6-2, 4-6, 6-3 to defend her title and extend her winning streak at the event to 12 matches.
The victory secured Sabalenka the “Sunshine Double” following her title earlier this month at Indian Wells. The final drew a sellout crowd of 16,830 at Hard Rock Stadium.
In the men’s doubles final, Simone Bolelli and Andrea Vavassori became the first Italian duo to win the title, defeating Harri Heliovaara and Henry Patten 6-4, 6-2.
