Miami Open Presented by Itaú – March 24 Match Recap & Highlights

The first semifinal spots at the Miami Open were decided Tuesday, with Coco Gauff and Karolina Muchova advancing in the women’s draw while a series of upsets highlighted the men’s Round of 16.



Gauff secured her first semifinal appearance in Miami with a 6-3, 1-6, 6-3 win over Belinda Bencic. Muchova followed with a 7-5, 7-6(5) victory against Victoria Mboko, moving closer to her second WTA 1000 title of the season.


On the men’s side, qualifier Martin Landaluce, 20, saved a match point to defeat Sebastian Korda 2-6, 7-6(6), 6-4. Jiri Lehecka also advanced with a 6-4, 6-7(4), 6-2 win over Taylor Fritz. Former Miami champion Jannik Sinner ended Alex Michelsen’s run 7-5, 7-6(4), while Americans Tommy Paul and Frances Tiafoe progressed to the quarterfinals.
