Miami New Drama Launches 2026–2027 Season and Fellowship Program in Miami
Miami New Drama is marking its tenth year at the Colony Theatre in Miami Beach with the launch of its 2026–2027 season, highlighted by four productions, a new artist fellowship program, and several key dates for auditions, ticket sales, and previews.
The company’s upcoming season features four shows at the Colony Theatre: Harley Elias’s Gandhi and the Jew, a return engagement of the original musical The Golem of Havana, The Great Behind by Carmen Peláez, and Cianuro Espumante, billed as the first Spanish-language Agatha Christie mystery produced by the company. Miami New Drama is offering a four-show subscription package and a flexible pass option, with subscribers receiving priority seating, discounted guest tickets, invitations to subscriber events, and complimentary ticket exchanges.
Alongside the new season, Miami New Drama has introduced Miami Next Drama, a season-long fellowship for Miami-based artists, directors, playwrights, producers, and designers. The program provides access to a full professional season, mentorship from working artists, and space and resources to develop an original project. Applications are open until Monday, September 24, and details are available on the company’s website.
Key dates for the fall include a video audition deadline on Friday, September 4, single tickets going on sale Tuesday, September 8, Miami Next Drama applications due Thursday, September 24, and previews for Gandhi and the Jew beginning Thursday, November 5.
The company also highlighted the continuing trajectory of recent work, noting that Here There Are Blueberries, which first received a workshop at Miami New Drama before returning to the Colony Theatre in 2025, is scheduled to open at Broadway’s Barrymore Theatre this fall, with previews from November 2 and an opening night set for November 9.
