Miami Music Project Celebrates Haitian Heritage Month at PAMM
The Miami Music Project celebrated Haitian Heritage Month with a performance by its Little Haiti Debut Orchestra. The event took place on May 8, 2026, at the Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) during the "Lakay PAMM: Living Beyond Borders" program.
Presented in collaboration with the Route 1804 Foundation and PAMM, the gathering honored Haitian culture, music, and storytelling on the museum terrace.
Students from Toussaint Louverture Elementary opened the event by performing the Haitian national anthem, "La Dessalinienne," followed by the folk song "Choucune (Yellow Bird)". Attendees also experienced local cuisine, dancing, and museum exhibitions.
The Little Haiti Chapter provides free after-school music education focused on community engagement and artistic growth. Founded in 2008, the nonprofit organization has impacted thousands of students through daily instruction and mentorship.
