Miami Music Project Awarded NEA Grant to Support Youth Orchestras
The Miami Music Project has received a $50,000 grant from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) for the 2026-2027 program year. This funding will support the organization’s Children’s Orchestras Program, a tuition-free initiative providing daily after-school music education and training.
The grant arrives as the nation celebrates its 250th anniversary. To mark this milestone, the Miami Music Project plans to hold 25 community performances that honor the artistic heritage of the United States.

"Dedicated to advancing the values of opportunity, community, and service, our organization proudly celebrates Freedom 250 by ensuring more young people have access to exceptional music education."
The Miami Music Project has served over 33,000 youth across Miami-Dade County since its inception. Inspired by the El Sistema model, the nonprofit provides conservatory-level education to students in seven local schools, focusing on social transformation and youth development.
