Miami Is the Most Expensive City in the Country for a Bach Weekend – Here's What You Get for It
Miami ranks last in a new national affordability study for bachelor and bachelorette weekends, and anyone who has priced out a Brickell penthouse or a South Beach nightclub for a group already knows why. But last place in an affordability ranking does not mean last place in experience, and for the right group, Miami is still worth every dollar.
Giggster's 2026 Bachelor and Bachelorette Affordability Index ranked the 30 largest U.S. metro areas across accommodation, nightlife venue pricing, and the combined cost of drinks, meals, and rideshares. Miami ranked 30th, driven primarily by the highest accommodation cost in the study at $301 per hour, the highest of any metro in the country.

What Drives Miami's Cost
Accommodation is the main factor. At $301 per hour, Miami is the most expensive metro for stays in the entire study, nearly three times the cost of the most affordable option, Riverside, California, at $50 per hour, and more than three times the national leader Houston at $96 per hour.
Nightlife venue costs and drinks and dining prices are also elevated relative to the national median, but it is accommodation that pushes Miami to the bottom of the overall index. Groups splitting a large house or penthouse across a full weekend will feel that cost most directly.
What Miami Offers That No Other City Can Match
The counterargument to the affordability data is obvious to anyone who has spent a weekend in Miami: there is no direct equivalent. The combination of South Beach, world-class nightlife, warm weather, walkable waterfront neighborhoods, and a genuine international energy is not something a city ranked higher in this index can replicate.
According to the Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau, Miami hosted over 25 million visitors in 2024, with celebrations and group travel representing a significant and growing share of that traffic. The city's hospitality infrastructure is built for groups, and that shows in the quality and variety of available spaces.
Who Should Still Choose Miami
Miami makes the most sense for groups where the experience matters more than the line-item budget. If the goal is a specific Miami moment, a specific venue, a specific energy, the data is not really relevant because no other city in the study offers the same thing. The affordability index measures cost, not value, and those are not the same thing for every group.
Groups that treat Miami as a once-in-a-celebration-cycle trip and budget accordingly will find it delivers. Groups that stumble into it without running the numbers may find the bill sobering.

How Miami Compares to the Rest of the Bottom
New York ranks 28th with the highest drinks, meals, and rides cost at $146 per outing. Boston ranks 29th with nightlife venues averaging $1,500 per hour. Miami ranks 30th with the highest accommodation costs. Each city is expensive in a different way, which means groups have to evaluate which cost category matters most to them before choosing between the three.
The Practical Advice for Miami-Bound Groups
If Miami is the destination, there are ways to manage costs within the city. Staying outside South Beach in neighborhoods like Wynwood, Edgewater, or Brickell can reduce accommodation costs. Booking venues earlier in the day or during off-peak hours brings nightlife venue prices down. Building in dinner before a club rather than ordering at the venue reduces the per-person food bill.
