The Miami International Piano Festival has announced the 2026 edition of its Discovery Series, featuring the Miami Beach debuts of Venezuelan pianist Luis Urbina and Turkish pianist Can Cakmur. The concerts will take place January 24 and 25 at The Wolfsonian–FIU Museum in Miami Beach.

The Discovery Series is known for presenting emerging and established international artists in an intimate setting. All concerts begin at 7:30 p.m. at the museum, located at 1001 Washington Avenue.
Luis Urbina will perform on January 24. Born in Venezuela in 1991, Urbina began his musical training at a young age and later studied at Florida International University under Kemal Gekic. He has appeared frequently at Miami International Piano Festival programs as a collaborator and soloist and is a recipient of several international awards, including the Gina Bachauer Competition. His appearance marks his official solo debut at the festival.
On January 25, Can Cakmur will take the stage. Cakmur is the gold medal winner of the 2018 Hamamatsu International Piano Competition and has received multiple International Classical Music Awards for his recordings. He has performed at major venues including Wigmore Hall, the Berlin Philharmonie and Suntory Hall in Tokyo, and currently serves on the faculty at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London.
The Wolfsonian–FIU Museum has become a key venue for the festival’s Discovery Series, offering audiences a close and immersive concert experience. The series focuses on artists selected not only for technical excellence but also for individuality and artistic depth, with the goal of supporting their long-term development.
Program details and tickets for the full season are available through the Miami International Piano Festival website.
