With the end of the FIFA World Cup around the corner, you're going to need something to fill all that time with! Here is everything Miami Film Festival is bringing to a screen near you for the rest of July and into August.
For fans of documentaries, we have screenings covering the past and present of activist movements in Cuba and Puerto Rico. If you're looking for something more lighthearted, then check out The Devine Tragedy (don't let the title fool you). We also still have the upcoming double feature in partnership with Filmed in Peru. And as always, this month's member screening and CineClub presentation.

The Freedom Tower Presents: The Long Cuban Night
+Q&A with filmmaker Sergio Fernández Borrás
Through live mobile broadcasts, the film depicts three pivotal events in recent Cuban history: the hunger strike led by Luis Manuel Otero Alcántara (whose whereabouts remain unknown after serving a five year prison sentence) and his group of artivists from the San Isidro Movement.

Set in the Andes in 1982, this film follows 12-year-old Tato, whose world is upended when his father is accused of being a terrorist, forcing the family into exile and exploring the impacts of Peru’s internal conflict on childhood and identity.
