Miami Emerging Arts Leaders Host Succession Planning Workshop on May 29, 2026

Arts administrators in Miami are invited to a workshop that will focus on building long-term organizational stability through succession planning and leadership transition strategies.



The session, titled Planning for Succession: From Strategy to Structure to Transition, will take place on Friday, May 29, 2026 at 10 a.m. at the Koubek Center, 2705 SW 3rd Street, Miami, FL 33135. Space is limited and RSVP is required by Thursday, May 28.


Attendees can register online for the workshop, which is designed for both emerging and experienced administrators involved in organizational planning and interested in generational leadership transitions.


Moderated by Ashlee K. Thomas, Interim Director of the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs, the discussion will feature panelists Rosie Gordon-Wallace of Diaspora Vibe Cultural Arts Incubator, Sammy Gonzalez Zeira of Young Musicians Unite, and Ruth Wiesen of Armour Dance Theatre, who will share practical approaches to succession planning, leadership transition, and long-term organizational impact.


The event is hosted by Miami Emerging Arts Leaders, a program of the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs, with support from the Arts and Business Council of Miami and the Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau.
