Miami Emerging Arts Leaders Host Succession Planning Workshop on May 29, 2026

Arts administrators in Miami will have an opportunity to explore long-term organizational strategy and leadership transition at an upcoming workshop organized by the Miami Emerging Arts Leaders program of the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs.

Titled "Planning for Succession: From Strategy to Structure to Transition," the session is scheduled for Friday, May 29, 2026 at 10 a.m. at the Koubek Center, 2705 SW 3rd Street, Miami, FL 33135. Space is limited and advance registration is required by Thursday, May 28; interested participants can register online.
The workshop will feature a panel discussion on building solid organizational foundations, development strategies, succession planning and tools for long-term planning, with panelists sharing how they have prepared their organizations for leadership transitions and sustained impact.
The conversation will be moderated by Ashlee K. Thomas, interim director of the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs. Featured panelists include Rosie Gordon-Wallace, founder of Diaspora Vibe Cultural Arts Incubator; Sammy Gonzalez Zeira, CEO and founder of Young Musicians Unite; and Ruth Wiesen, academy director of Armour Dance Theatre.

The session is designed for emerging and veteran arts administrators who support organizational planning and are interested in generational leadership and legacy within cultural institutions.
