Miami Emerging Arts Leaders will host a free virtual panel on January 27, 2026, examining how arts-based practices are being integrated into health and wellness through research-informed models and cross-sector partnerships between arts organizations and healthcare providers.

Event Overview


Titled Arts + Medicine: Reimagining Wellness through Creative Expression, the online discussion will take place on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at 10 a.m. Eastern Time. The session will be held on Zoom and is free to attend, with advance registration required.


The conversation will explore the growing arts and health landscape, focusing on how creative expression is being used in healing contexts as the health and wellness sector expands. Participants will hear how organizations are developing innovative program models, applying research-informed practices, and building cross-sector collaborations that connect the arts with healthcare settings.

The panel will feature Cassandra A. Belden, Evaluation and Research Specialist with University of Florida Health Shands Arts in Medicine.


Also speaking will be Adrienne Hundley, Head of Community Strategy at Art Pharmacy, who will discuss how community-focused strategies are advancing the use of arts in medical and wellness contexts.


About The Program


The event is organized by Miami Emerging Arts Leaders, a program of the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs. The initiative is designed to identify and cultivate the next generation of diverse arts leaders in Miami-Dade County.


Since 2004, Miami Emerging Arts Leaders has provided networking opportunities and resource sharing to help new and emerging arts administrators explore professional development topics and career pathways. All arts professionals are welcome to participate in the program’s activities and discussions.
