The Miami Design District continues to serve as a leading destination for contemporary art and design with the debut of two exciting cultural exhibitions this spring. Currently on view, the district is hosting a site-specific botanical installation by French-American artist Joyce Billet and a dynamic group pop-up exhibition titled New Constellation.
Spotlight: Joyce Billet
On view through May 31, 2026, at the Melin Atrium, Spotlight: Joyce Billet features a site-specific installation of the artist’s botanical sculptures and furniture. Billet, whose background is in architecture, challenges the evolutionary trajectory of plywood through industrial processes.

The installation integrates living orchids from the Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden with sculpted plywood, introducing an evolving dimension to the pieces. This interplay underscores themes of growth, adaptation, and the interdependence between the natural and built worlds. By intertwining functional seating with sculptural elements, Billet blurs the boundaries between art, design, and the environment, actively encouraging visitors to inhabit the space physically.
Location: Melin Atrium, 3930 NE 2nd Avenue, Miami, FL 33137
Dates: April 24 – May 31, 2026
New Constellation
Located at 140 NE 39th Street, the New Constellation pop-up exhibition is on view through May 17, 2026. Curated by Ronel Similien, the show brings together a diverse group of contemporary artists whose works explore the connections between materials, ideas, and cultural perspectives.

Inspired by the patterns of stars in the night sky, the exhibition creates a metaphorical "constellation" where each artwork stands on its own while resonating with surrounding pieces. Featuring painting, sculpture, textiles, and mixed media, the collection highlights moments where personal stories meet broader cultural ideas, and tradition meets experimentation. Exhibiting artists include Marcelo Canevari, Amani Lewis, Nicole Burko, Marcellina Akpojotor, Ornella Pocetti, Hebru Brantley, Stephen J. Arboite, Justyna Kiselewicz, Mariana Garibay Raeke, Reisha Perlmutter, Dionnys Matos, Otis Kwame Kye Quaicoe, and Emily Christine Velez Nelms.
Location: 140 NE 39th Street, Suite 203, Miami, FL 33137
Dates: April 17 – May 17, 2026
