Miami Design District to Spotlight Emerging Designers at ‘Volare’ Fashion Show From IMM

Istituto Marangoni Miami (IMM) will present its second annual fashion show, Volare, on May 15 at 8:30 PM at Palm Court in the Miami Design District. The event will showcase the final collections of graduating fashion design students and introduce the new IMM x Miami Design District Scholarship Fund.

The show’s theme, Volare—Italian for “to fly”—represents freedom, creativity, and forward motion, mirroring the aspirations of IMM’s emerging designers. As one of Miami’s major student-led fashion events, it will bring together leaders from the fashion, art, and design industries.

A key feature of this year’s show is the launch of the IMM x MDD Scholarship Fund, which will provide a full-tuition scholarship (valued at $162,300) to a Design and Architecture Senior High (DASH) graduate pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Fashion Design at IMM. All proceeds from ticket sales will go directly to this fund.

IMM President Hakan Baykam described the show as “a celebration of the future, where innovation, craftsmanship, and inspiration all take flight on the runway.” Dean of Fashion Mario Braghieri noted the collections represent the culmination of each student’s growth, vision, and dedication.

The evening will also feature a live performance by the Miami Symphony Orchestra, adding a musical element to the high-fashion presentation. Industry partners such as Freedom Models and Godina Worldwide are supporting the production, handling casting, hair, and makeup.

The event underscores IMM’s commitment to education, creativity, and community engagement while reinforcing the Miami Design District’s role as a hub for emerging talent and cultural innovation.
