The Miami Design District will present District Sounds: Carnival Edition, a live outdoor music and performance experience, on Sunday, February 1, 2026, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Jungle Plaza.

The event culminates with a live performance by Etienne Charles & Creole Soul, whose work blends contemporary jazz with deep Caribbean musical traditions. Set under the full moon, the Carnival Edition transforms the public space into an immersive celebration of rhythm, movement, and collective expression.

Presented in conjunction with Zak Ové’s installation, the multidisciplinary program draws inspiration from Trinidadian Carnival and other Afro-Caribbean cultural traditions. The afternoon unfolds as a procession featuring traditional Junkanoo performers, towering Moko Jumbies, and a live percussion series by Irawo Osa, building toward the evening’s headline performance.

Part of the Design District’s ongoing District Sounds cultural programming, the Carnival Edition reinforces the neighborhood’s role as a platform for international and local artists working across music, visual art, and performance. The event invites both residents and visitors to experience live art in a communal, open-air setting that reflects Miami’s diverse cultural landscape.
