Miami DDA and Freebee Expand Electric Fleet in Downtown Miami
Downtown Miami is receiving a significant mobility upgrade to improve connectivity across the urban core. The Miami Downtown Development Authority (Miami DDA), in partnership with Freebee, has introduced six new all-electric vehicles and expanded its service routes to better connect Brickell, the Central Business District, and the Arts & Entertainment (A&E) District.
The expansion aims to provide a seamless transit option for residents, employees, and visitors moving between offices, restaurants, museums, and waterfront destinations. This new phase builds on the success of the previous program, which served more than 40,000 passengers. By offering on-demand, eco-friendly transportation, the initiative seeks to reduce short car trips and alleviate traffic congestion in some of Miami’s fastest-growing neighborhoods.
“Available on demand, the Freebee service will offer a simple way for residents and visitors to move between key destinations, helping keep our city moving and more connected than ever,” said Miami DDA Chairman and City of Miami District 4 Commissioner Ralph Rosado.
The service was recently unveiled at Mary Brickell Village by a leadership team including Commissioner Rosado, City of Miami District 3 Commissioner Rolando Escalona, and Miami DDA CEO Christina Crespi.
Service Hours:
Monday – Thursday: 8:30 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.
Friday: 8:30 a.m. – 11:30 p.m.
Saturday: 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 p.m.
Sunday: 10:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Riders can request a trip by downloading the Freebee app on their mobile devices.
