The Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs has opened applications for its grants programs while confirming the reappointment of its interim director and introducing new tools for community engagement.

On Wednesday, March 4, Ashlee K. Thomas was reappointed as interim director of the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs as the administration continues an open recruitment process for a permanent director. The move maintains leadership continuity for the agency during the search.
The department’s grants programs are now accepting applications for the upcoming cycle. Guidelines for the Miami Individual Artists Grants Program have been revised to broaden eligibility and increase support for local artists. Updated guidelines can be found on the department’s news page.
To expand communication with the cultural sector, the department has launched an official LinkedIn page where it will share updates on grants, public meetings, and industry news alongside its existing digital newsletters.
Recent and upcoming programming includes the Cultural Affairs Council’s 17th Annual State of the Arts Address and an immersive decision-making workshop for nonprofit leaders hosted by Miami Emerging Arts Leaders. Looking ahead, the department will mark the 20th anniversary of the All Kids Included Family Arts Festival on May 2 at the Dennis C. Moss Cultural Arts Center, continuing its focus on inclusive arts experiences for children of all abilities.
