Miami City Ballet will launch its season with American Rhythms, a three-ballet program running October 16–25 in Miami and Fort Lauderdale.

The program features George Balanchine’s Allegro Brillante, which condenses classical ballet technique into a 13-minute work noted for its speed and precision.

Miami City Ballet will also present the company premiere of Jerome Robbins’ N.Y. Export: Opus Jazz, a sneaker-clad ballet by the creator of West Side Story. The work will be performed in a new look designed by Zac Posen for GapStudio.

Rounding out the program, Tony Award-winning choreographer Patricia Delgado will unveil a world premiere set to original music by Miami-born artist Emily Estefan.

Performances are scheduled for October 16–18 at the Arsht Center in Miami and October 24–25 at the Broward Center in Fort Lauderdale.

Tickets are available through Miami City Ballet and partner venues.

Audiences can watch the trailer for a preview of American Rhythms.
